WEIRDEST Creature I’ve EVER Caught while Fishing!!! – Fishing is the activity of attempting to catch fish. Fish are typically caught in the wild. Techniques for catching fish comprise hand gathering, spearing, netting, fishing and trapping. Fishing might include catching aquatic animals aside from fish, such as molluscs, cephalopods, crustaceans, and echinoderms. The expression is not normally applied to catching farmed fish, or into aquatic mammals, like whales where the term whaling is more suitable. According to the United Nations FAO statistics, the complete amount of commercial fishermen and fish farmers will likely be 38 million. Fisheries and aquaculture supply direct and indirect employment to over 500 million people in developing nations. In 2005, the worldwide per capita consumption of fish caught from wild fisheries was 14.4 kilograms, using an extra 7.4 kilograms harvested from fish farms.

Fishing is an ancient practice that dates back to at least the start of the Upper Paleolithic period about 40,000 years back. Isotopic analysis of the skeletal remains of Tianyuan man, a 40,000-year-old modern individual from eastern Asia, has proven that he regularly consumed fish. Archaeology features like shell middens, discarded fish bones, and cave paintings show that sea foods were significant for survival and consumed in considerable quantities. In this period of time, most people lived a hunter-gatherer lifestyle and were, of necessity, constantly on the move. However, where there are ancient examples of permanent settlements (though not necessarily permanently occupied) like those at Lepenski Vir, they’re nearly always associated with fishing as a significant source of food.

While I really like to fish, and go often, it has been an obsession. My one rod, 1 net, and one handle box are plenty for me to be very pleased. I don’t own a boat (can not afford to buy one, and couldn’t afford the registration even if I picked one up) or a trailer to haul it. I thought of getting a little bass boat or kayak after, but then again, could not justify it because I’m perfectly content fishing from beach. To put it differently, I’m completely satisfied heading into a lake with simple tools and a stone to sit! For me, fishing is pure and relaxing pleasure.

However one day while in the lake I began to think about why it was so great to be there. If you enjoy fishing, you know how good it feels to be outside – how relaxed your body could be without medication! It was only at that point that I realized that fishing is good for your health.

When you sit beside the lake and there’s any breeze at all, you are breathing humidified air that is clean (usually) and you’re appreciating with the evaporative cooling effect. Heat from warm air penetrates the moisture in the atmosphere and it dissipates – then the temperature drops. I really don’t know about you, but I find myself needing to breathe in deeply from time to time (not due to difficulty breathing!) And that I think that it’s my body asking for more of a good thing.
